Good Thing I Like Roller Coasters

My diagnosis process took me for quite the amusement park ride. I don't think this ride has been invented yet. At times this ride took me way up high and then dropped me way down low all while pressing my stomach up against my tonsils for a few seconds. Then this same ride spun me around and got me so dizzy I would fall over like a two-legged bar stool on a frozen pond. The funniest thing about this is that you just know there are a ton of people out there who would pay at least thirty dollars to stand in line for HOURS to experience the same torturous sensation that my diagnosis process gave me.

During my diagnosis I was told many things that brought me down. Like, "We need to look for a brain tumor." DOWNER. Then the results of that test would come back negative and I would go way up the next hill. WOOHOO! "Now we need to test you for ALS, AIDS, LUPUS, LYME Disease, and a ton of other things." BUMMER.

A person just shouldn't have to worry about these things, especially when you are in the prime of your life. I was about to turn 29, I was recently married, we were thinking of having a family, I was climbing the corporate ladder, and living an active life in the outdoors playing sports and camping with family. All of this was put on hold so I could take the diagnosis roller coaster ride for the next year. This was the twist you around and make you dizzy part of the ride that left me unable to decide which direction to go in life for a few years.

There is no doubt I have found my direction in life. Currently I am on my way back up on this crazy ride but I also know that there could be a drop on the other side or just nice straight plateau. I'll just deal with whatever the ride maker has in store for me. I guess it's a good thing I like roller coasters and surprises.
