What I've Learned

Funny, but in some ways I think that MS has been a "gift" in my life. No, don't get me wrong. It's nothing I ever wished for or wished on anyone else, but looking in my life's rearview mirror, I see some great growth and adaptations since my diagnosis 16 years ago. Amazingly, I have transformed from glass half empty to half full as I've grown. Maybe it would have happened with age; I guess I'll never know. But what I do know is that MS has made me slow down, stop and appreciate all the good things I have achieved and continue to try and enjoy. As I said on my 40th birthday, much to the dismay of the people I said it to, "life is short and getting shorter". That's just the reality. And while I dislike MS, I also recognize the beneficial adjustments I've had to make in my world. Cheers, RS
